Weekly Empties #1

It's a good and bad thing when I finish a product. Weird to say, but I feel a sense of accomplishment when I finish a product regardless of my feelings on them. But it can also be a sad day if it's a product that I love, regardless if I plan to repurchase it or not.

I thought I would do a weekly empties post. Mostly because I don't feel like having a box just sitting there full of empty product containers. Plus I tend to forget and end up recycling them anyways, and Sunday being my recycle day I thought weekly empties would be better. So let's get started!

Antipodes Deliverance Kowhai Flower Hand Cream
This is a nice light hand cream with a sweet fruity scent. The scent is not overly strong which is good for those who have issues with strongly scented products. Easy absorption with this cream. It does not leave a thick residue on the skin like some glycerin based products. If you have extremely dry hands, this may not be the cream for you.
In Canada Antipodes can be purchased at Whole Foods.

Tree Hut Shea Body Butter ~ Tropical Mango
I received this in my last Beauty Box 5 in the spring. I am using this now because I tend to only us body butters in the winter. It was nice! Not as moisturizing as some body butters that I've tried but it was okay. The consistency was thick and absorbed fast into my skin which was the problem. It felt like I didn't just moisturize my skin. I felt like my skin but not any better. My skin can get really dry in the winter so I need a body cream that basically softens the skin (e.g. Kiehl's Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter). This is not it! I loved the scent more than anything else. Like a tropical drink! It lasted for about a week.

Nip+Fab Mango Smoothie Dry Skin Fix Body Butter
I received this in a swap last year spring and was excited to give this a try this winter.
But this was another okay body cream. As the name states it is more like a smoothie. I found this to be very watery. There was also some separation of the body butter in the tub, so each time I used it I had to shake it up. It absorbed good and the scent lingers on your skin for a little while. The scent is a lot stronger and sweeter than the previous body butter. And just so you know, all of Nip+Fab body butter scents are strong and very sweet smelling. I've tried 3 out of the 4 scents they have and Pistachio is the strongest and sweetest of them all. This lasted about 2 months.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil
Pai Skincare is line geared towards people with sensitive skin. I happen to have hypersensitive skin. So finding a skincare line that doesn't irritate my skin is a chore with a lot of hit and miss with more misses than hits.
This is a very good product. I applyed this on my face, my decollete and on any irritations that I had on anywhere else on my body. I used this at night alone or after my serum before my moisturizer.
The oil also works really well in helping to speed up healing of minor skin irritations. I had an irritated mole on the base of my neck and put a band-aid over it to protect it from being disturbed. When I removed the band-aid, I ended up with a bruised welt with some broken capillaries. When this happens it usually takes weeks for my skin to heal, but with the Pai Rosehip oil it took days.
For a comparison I plan on purchasing Rose hip oil from a natural food store to see if the results are the same. The scent has an earthy floral smell.
Can be purchase online at http://usa.paiskincare.com with free shipping to Canada when you spend over $60 (shipped from a Canadian affiliate, so no extra duty & taxes).

Tatcha Moisture Rich Silk Cream
This is a nice light cream. Consistency is more like a gel cream than an actual cream. Not overly rich, so it's good for normal to combination skin types.
I liked it! It did not cause me any breakouts and left my skin feeling moisturized. Though there was no apparent changes to the feel and texture of my skin after a use of about 2 weeks, but still glad I had a chance to try it out.
No strong scent to the cream.

That's it for my empties this week. I would purchase/repurchase everything but the Tatcha cream, only because it is very expensive. It would be a splurge :)

I love learning about new products! Let me know what you are trying and loving this week.

Thanks for reading!
